The Inside Scoop

I've got an inside scoop. How often does that happen?
But in my generousness, I have decided to share it with you, so that you, like me, may have an inside view.

My buddy over at Azzamatterofact (see the sidebar) is buddies with the great John McCain. Well, maybe not buddies, but he has spoken with him, more than once (I think). OK, well, he works on the campaign, but he knows what is going on with the man's campaign. It's still more than you've got.

Anyway, I promised him that if he would keep us up to date on McCain's campaign, I'd link to him.
(Disclaimer) This is not an endorsement of John McCain, yet. It is for entertainment purposes only, and not to be used as toilet paper or currency.

Actually, I watched McCain on George Snuffaluffagus's's's morning show, and was in admiration of his stance on the importance of this war. He handled himself, and George, very well. I don't remember exactly what it is that I'm not crazy about him for. I'm also too lazy right now to think too much about it, or go look for it. But I do know that I have been (oh, yeah, his boneheaded campaign finance reform, for starters) an admirer of his military stance, especially after he and Alf's dad, Sen. Lieberman, came out in support of the proposed surge. McCain understands the significance of both victory and defeat. We will do well to understand that, as well.

Whoever gets the Republican nomination should adopt McCain's stance regarding this war. There is a big hole in the center of NYC to remind us why.

I like a lot of what McCain says but very little of what he actually does. He is very a much a "Do as I say not as I do" politician. I remember him best as part of the Charles Keating 5.

His stance on illegal immigration is completely wrong. He headed up the last campaign for amnesty. I respect McCain for his service in the military, for his service in politics, for his support of our military and war against Islamic terrorists.... But no way I can vote for him (unless he's the last man standing against Hillary).

Having said that, Brad Marston's my friend too. Nice blogs Azamatterofact and Azamatterofprinciple (I think I have that last one right)

Wow! I actually got blogged about! Proves two things to me. 1)Maybe I am making a little progress in the blogosphere and 2) I need to visit here more often! Thanks so much.

I'm with Debbie on McCain's position on immigration. (Thank you also for the kind words Deb.) However I think McCain has heard loud and clear from the people that they don't trust the government on border security and protecting our borders must come first.

I do agree with McCain on pork barrel spending, transparent government and on national security. I don't think he'll be afraid to use our military power but his POW experience will make him very circumspect in doing so.

Again thanks. BTW...I have created what I believe is the first grassroots McCain Blogroll. If anyone is interested in joining and placing it on their blog please stop by azamatterofact and get the code.

Cheers...

Shoprat: Thanks for the reminder of the Keating 5. I had forgotten. I was rather taken aback by that, although, I think it ended up doing more good than harm.

Debbie: Welcome to the Practicalist. I am not sure I totally disagree with McCain's ideas concerning the immigration issue. He seems to take a more practical approach. I hope this doesn't lose you as a reader. To be honest with you, I am still struggling with what I think the best approach should be.

Brad: You're welcome here any time. It might get lonely now and again, being the only peruser of the day, but at least I don't feel like I'm preaching at the wall. Feel free to post about my blog some time. I might get one or two of your readers. ;)

NORAD TRACKER

Northern Operational Republican Activist Defense

Here is an excerpt By Michael D. Shear and Juliet EilperinWashington Post Staff WritersSunday, November 18, 2007; A01

The campaign recently devoted precious money to begin airing television commercials in the all-important -- and costly -- Boston media market, which blankets southern New Hampshire. But the senator recognizes that he cannot count on voters delivering for him again and plans a relentless handshake-by-handshake retail pitch. "He realizes that he has to do it all over again," said Steve Duprey, a former state GOP chairman and the co-chair of McCain's campaign in New Hampshire. With more than half of the state's residents remaining undecided, according to a recent University of New Hampshire poll, aides think voters will take a second look at McCain, particularly given residents' historic support for the senator and his brand of fiscal discipline. McCain said he expects attacks from his rivals to increase dramatically during the next few weeks, especially if they sense that he is making progress here. His aides said the senator is ready. "John McCain is the only candidate running who knows what it's like to be under hostile fire," Duprey said. "The challenge we will face at some point is resources."

Letters, Internet . . . Distribution to the base , preaching to the choir. . . all well and good. Of course we need to continue that. As I've mentioned before however; we still need BODIES. Boots on the ground , so to speak. John McCain understands this better than anyone. McCain has routinely made statements regarding the finances of the campaign that *He can out-campaign anyone, work harder* etc. Well my friends I have witnessed this first hand here in New Hampshire. If only The Senator had the resources and time to go throughout the entire country and shake every hand. If only the entire country got to hear John speak. Listen to his views, Ideals and Ideas there would no longer be such a thing as 'undecided'.
That is where we come in! Piddly lil' blogs like my own. Larger ones that I am linked to. All of you stopping by and reading this right now. WE can make John Omnipresent! We, at least many of us here, realize we 'need' John McCain. Well right now John McCain 'needs' us as well. When you come across a post that is firing off against the Senator RESPOND! Suck it up and get a little John McCain P.R.I.D.E = Providing Republican (Responsible) Insight Direction & Education . Provide this to all those 'undecided' . Those that aren't 'fired' up. It is our damned duty to Fire them up!
